Spotify: a sneaky peak at my playlist…

I’m passionate about music. Madly in love with it. I love music so much that I can’t go a single day without listening to a few songs. Apparently a melomaniac is somebody who has an abnormal fondness for music. Well, if that’s the case then so be it πŸ™ˆ

I’m at the point now where my playlist contains 1235 songs and counting! Now this may make you think I can’t possibly listen to all those songs?! Buttttttt, I LOVE the fact I have so many songs on my playlist. It means the same song doesn’t come back around too often! Also, I’m constantly adding more and more songs to it so the list just keeps growing bigger and bigger as my taste in music expands to all the amazing genres out there! πŸ˜‚

As music is such a massive part of my life, I thought I’d share a little snapshot of my playlist with you. People who share new music with you are SO important, and if one person likes one of the songs I share on here, then I’m happy!

Rather than just choose my favourite songs, I thought I’d play my list on random and just see what shows up. So here we go! 😬 (as I’m still an amateur blogger I’m not entirely sure how to add links to my playlist just yet so once I figure this out I can add them in! 😬)

1. V V Brown – Shark In The Water

If you haven’t ever listened to any of V V Brown’s music, I suggest you do so. I first heard her music a few years ago as a support act for Pink. There are some songs I like just because I appreciate a good song, and there are songs I hear which remind me of where exactly I was when I first heard them. For example, every time I now hear V V Brown, it makes me think back to that Pink concert. It was the craziest day, partly because Pink’s Funhouse tour involved way too many clowns for my liking πŸ™ˆ But having said that, this song and any of V V Brown’s other material will always remind me of that day, which isn’t a bad thing at all!

2. Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox – I Believe In A Thing Called Love.

Yes, this is a cover of the very well known track from The Darkness. But, don’t write it off just because it’s a cover. It’s a reeeeeeeeeally good cover! And definitely worth looking up other songs they’ve covered. They’re my new guilty pleasure, especially their cover of Coolio’s Gangsta Paradise. If you love a good cover with a jazzy background. Seriously, look them up. You won’t regret it! πŸ˜˜πŸ˜¬πŸ‘πŸΌ

3. DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince – The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air

Well, surely it goes without saying this is a CLASSIC! If you’ve never heard it you’re clearly far younger than I am…!! πŸ™ˆ  Another guilty pleasure that I don’t hesitate to sing along to ever time it comes on. I’ve even been known to search specifically for it from time to time too. Not ashamed in the slightest. That and Men In Black of course πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

4. Incubus – Stellar

😍 Does this one even need an explanation?! This one isn’t even a guilty pleasure, it’s just pure pleasure. I’ve loved incubus for many a year, going back to my early teens (my black hoody and nail varnish phase). It’s an unconditional love and the Make Yourself album is one I would recommend to anyone. Enjoy!

5. Salt N Pepa – Push It

Ahh, you can’t beat Push It in my opinion.  Pretty sure it’s been included in every exercise class I’ve ever taken part in and do you know why? Because it’s a tune! I can’t help dancing along to this whenever it comes on, and I was once spotted dancing to it in my kitchen by the Asda delivery man πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚

Not sure if many of you will have heard of LANY, I only did around 18 months ago. They’re described online as a “dreampop” band. I’m not quite sure what that is but from what I’ve heard of them, I like so would definitely recommend! πŸ˜¬πŸ‘πŸΌ

7. Oasis – She’s Electric

We all need some Oasis in our playlists. There’s not really much I can say other than that I don’t think there’s an oasis song I’ve heard that I didn’t like. Some I’ve heard more times than others (Wonderwall..) but I still enjoy listening when they pop up on my playlist.

8. She Wants Revenge – Tear You Apart

Eurgh there’s just something so catchy about this song and once it’s in my head it’s there’s for the whole day! The song was included on the soundtrack for season 5 of American Horror Story and although I wasn’t 100% sure about it when I first heard it, it soon grew on me and is now one of my faves 😬

9. Kings Of Leon – Use Somebody

You can’t go wrong if you’ve got some Kings Of Leon tracks in your playlist. With the obvious exception of Sex On Fire, this is the KOL song I will always stop what I’m doing to turn it up and appreciate it fully 😬

10. Passenger – Let Her Go

And finally, a song I literally can’t pick fault with AT ALL. I just love it so much. I’m a sucker for an acoustic track, but this one just gives me goosebumps and I’ve been known to put it on repeat before.

So there you have it, today’s random offerings from my playlist! If you get the chance to add any of the above songs to your own playlist, do it! 😬😘

Peace out ✌🏼 xxx
